PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The FX Hood is a horizontal vent terminator with built-in freeze protection for the Bosch AquaStar 125FX and 240FX models. It is required when installing the AquaStar 125FX model

• Frame is 12" x 12" and the FXHood sleeve is 8" long.
• Strongly recommended for the Bosch AquaStar 240FX in cold climates (below 32 degrees) to keep the heat exchanger from freezing.
• Will prevent cold air from freezing the heat exchanger on the Bosch AquaStar Tankless Water Heaters. The back draft preventer (FX Hood) should be used with all electronic ignition gas tankless water heaters where the outside temperature can fall below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

NOTE: FXHOOD rough cut opening is 10-1/8” x 10-1/8”

The approved vent terminal must be installed so that flue gases will not jeopardize people, overheat combustible structures or enter into buildings, and so that proper clearances are maintained 

• The vent terminal shall not be less than 7 feet above a public walkway.
• The vent terminal shall terminate at least 3 feet above any (mechanical) air inlet within 10 feet.
• The vent terminal shall not be within a 6-foot radius from a gas meter or regulator.
• The vent terminal shall be a minimum of 6 feet from any combustion air inlet.
• The vent terminal shall terminate from an opening window, at least 4 feet below or 4 feet horizontally from the opening.
• The vent terminal shall terminate from a door, at least 1 foot above and 4 feet horizontally from the door.
• The vent terminal shall not be less than 3 feet from an adjacent building.
• The vent terminal shall not be less than 1 foot above grade.
